finally, after weeks of standing forlornly in a field,(i have no idea what my neighbours think of me - completely crazy probably ) my perseverance has payed off. i was participating in my nightly vigil, staring into the dark shape of what looks like some trees, willing the bird, lustily calling 50 meters away, to appear, when my, to my surprise the dark figure of one of my 3 fine calling male tawny owls swoops down and lands in the trees at the bottom of the field.
so too all the doubters out there, here is Teenage Twitcher Top Tip: persevere and it will pay off - eventually.
